What the majority of people today are seeking is job stability. Due to the problems with the economy many who thought they had this learned they did not.
One of the significant proposals in the UK today is the Renewables Obligation. This obligation is a legal requirement for the sourcing of any percentage of power that is increasing that is obtained from green sources. The plan has been promised financial support until the year 2037. The BWEA (British Wind Energy Association) would be a stimulating factor for companies that are planning on building in the North Sea. These would include wind farms and other tidal projects. The UK is looking into the growth of business and more jobs for their citizens.
The U.S. Needs to Get Motivated
When faced with other countries doing what it takes to ensure job stability, the U.S. is beginning to offer more opportunities in which the wind degree will be a plus. Though they do not seem to be moving as fast as other countries; the U.S. has no wind farms as of yet. Colleges are just beginning to offer wind degrees and wind training in green collar jobs. The need is going to be huge for this sector and the training is needed now so that U.S. citizens can once again have the job stability they need.
This nation is in a shape it has not seen for many years. With the rising unemployment and people losing their homes, the brink of disaster is on the horizon. Why not instigate a program such as the UK has and provide the jobs needed to help get the country back on its feet?
Thinking ahead by adding this extra 10 years to their Renewables Obligation, the government is also going to be using capital spending to finance this environmental endeavor. The projected job increase is one million over 20 years and this in turn will allow people the opportunity to have a future and job stability. Careers with stability should be the focus especially today.
The Environmental Industries Commission is calling for the government here as well as other countries to implement a plan that would include the following:
* An environmental policy framework
* Incentives
* Research funding
* Skill development
Citing that these needs are essential if companies are going to invest in the long term development of this industry, the Environmental Industries Commission says the future of many countries depends on the ability to hold their own in the upcoming renewable energy field. Only by instigating education that will include wind energy degrees will the citizens of these countries be able to enjoy the job stability they once had.
When all is said and done, the plus side of wind power training and the use of funding to further renewable energy sources make perfect sense. If it is not put into practice soon, where is the world going to be when the sources of energy we are using now are depleted?
