You have trained in school to be a specialist in the new form of renewable energy – wind power – and you have landed your first job as a technician with a good corporation that is growing. After several years working in the same position, you may want to focus on furthering your education to move up the chain of command, so to speak, and quite possibly up the corporate ladder.
As the technology grows, so does the business, and with that comes opportunity. You should prepare yourself for any new innovative changes your company makes. Having the education and/or training you need for filling obvious promotion positions guarantees you a spot on the company team.
Many educational venues are coming on board for the advancement of renewable power. Wind training is just one of those areas studied today. Wind power is not in its “fledgling” stage, but more of its “coming of age”. As the world depletes its fossil fuels, the dependency on other energy sources will be prevalent. Wind power is being developed and perfected as you read this, and there is room for more wind farms around the globe.
Do you already have a degree? Think about taking classes relative to your area of expertise in wind farming. Would you like to shift your focus? The sky – or perhaps the wind? – is the limit for deciding which area you would like to contribute. For example, if you were already a technician, then perhaps you would like to be an engineer, or developer, or even a fabricator. Maybe you would rather be the person who sells the equipment, or convinces landowners to sell or rent their land for a wind farm.
Moving up the corporate ladder may be of interest, also. “Running the show” could be what you were made for. Training in these areas of administrative and management skills is available, and with the right schooling, you could be the next President of the firm.
Electronic communications are probably some of the most important part of any corporation. You might consider going into IT or provide other computing services for your company. From the highest wind turbine to the highest skyscraper, your company will be looking for people who can handle the burden of keeping things running smoothly through electronic communication.
Whatever your choice may be, training is out there for the taking. Be assured that wind farming is the wave of the future, and that future can be yours!
